Commissioned Services

Neil Reader, March 25, 2015

All current staff working for Children’s Links and PACEY will transfer to Prospects on 1 April. Staff will be attending an Induction day in Bromley for all staff on 1 April so this will be the only day when providers may not be able to reach our staff. However, any provider that needs to contact Prospects urgently may use the following details:

Prospects Dedicated provider number: 01634 816029.

Dedicated email: earlyyears.hampshire@prospects.co.uk

During 1 April and 14 April, Prospects will be carrying out a restructure to meet the needs of the new contract. During this time, the current staff will carry on supporting providers according to existing arrangements. Details of how to make contact with your existing PACEY or Children’s Links contact will be sent shortly.

We will share our new structure and contact details for our new team as soon as this has been decided.

Commissioned Support Services

Neil Reader, January 8, 2015

Services for Young Children has now completed its tender exercise for Childcare Support Services and the contract will be awarded to Prospect Services (part of Prospect Group Co Ltd) and will start from 1 April 2015. This contract will deliver both Childminder and Group Setting support.

Prospect Services comes with extensive experience of delivering support for both childminders and group settings, having operated successful programmes in Medway delivering childminding support and Southampton City Council delivering the Early Years Quality Service for Pre-Schools, among 23 other Local Authority contracts that they deliver. They will deliver support as part of SfYC’s Local Development Team Improvement Support Programme (ISP) to improve outcomes for children.

The existing range of services to childminders and group settings with the current organisations, PACEY and Children’s Links, will continue until March 2015. Prospect Services will work with both PACEY and Children’s Links through the spring term to ensure a smooth transfer to the new service.

We will be providing you with more detail about the range of support that will be on offer from both Services for Young Children and our new commissioned service (Prospect Services) through our provider briefings and updates in our blog.

SfYC Commissioned Support Services

Neil Reader, October 7, 2014

The contract for support services is being re-tendered from 1 April 2015 (see below) and will complement the SfYC Improvement Support Programme. The funding has been secured from Schools Forum to:

(a) provide advice to meet the welfare standards for all early years education provision,
(b) strengthen governance and leadership arrangements for settings, and
(c) raise the quality of early years education delivery within the childminder sector.

Following evaluation of the tenders, we will be able to confirm in early spring 2015 who we will be contracting to deliver services. The current commissioned service providers, Children’s Links and PACEY will continue to deliver the support services up until 31 March 2015.
